Warehouse Operations Manager

Streamline Recruitment are partnering with a well-established client in Essex who are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. You will oversee daily operations while driving process improvements, efficiency, team development, and health & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage a team of 30 staff across two sites (including travel in Europe), overseeing daily pick, pack, returns, and inbound/outbound operations.
2. Manage appraisals, one-to-ones, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes to ensure a high-performing team.
3. Support warehouse managers and team leaders to maintain smooth workflows and consistent operational standards.
4. Oversee operational processes and procedures, identifying improvements and driving efficiency across all sites.
5. Monitor KPIs, operational metrics, and targets, providing reports and insights to senior management.
6. Plan staffing levels, shifts, and resources to meet operational demand and seasonal peaks.
7. Manage budgets and operational spend, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
8. Analyse inventory, implement cycle counts, and reduce stock losses.
9. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
10. Optimise warehouse layouts, storage, and picking strategies to maximise efficiency and throughput.
11. Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, audits, and inspections.
12. Embed a strong safety culture and manage accident investigations and corrective actions.
13. Analyse operational data to inform decision-making and drive improvements

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations management
2. Strong understanding of health & safety regulations in warehouse environments
3. Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
4. Strong leadership and team management skills

Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 18:00

Salary: £42,000–£45,000 DOE
