Senior / Mechanical Estimator

The Opportunity

We’re working with a growing Design & Build building services contractor delivering mechanical and electrical packages across commercial projects, typically up to £4 million in value.

With an annual turnover of circa £10 million and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Estimator to support continued growth and play a key role within the pre-construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit, agile business where your input will have a direct impact on project success and company growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of detailed mechanical estimates from first principles
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
• Producing accurate cost plans and take-offs
• Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
• Value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities
• Supporting bid submissions and tender returns
• Working closely with internal design and delivery teams
• Attending tender interviews where required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within a building services contractor
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems within commercial projects
• Experience working on D&B tenders
• Ability to produce estimates independently
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Proficient in estimating software or strong Excel skills
• Relevant trade or academic background (desirable)
