Location: West Thurrock

Working Hours:

- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM

- 1 in 3 Saturdays (paid at £200)

- On-call duties as required

Reports To: Transport Manager

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Transport Planner to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in planning and optimizing routes for both LGV 1 and LGV 2 vehicles, ensuring efficient transport services to our clients. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Develop and optimize transport plans and routes for LGV 1 and LGV 2 vehicles, including both curtain side and container transport.

- Coordinate and schedule deliveries to various distribution sites and stores across the UK.

- Assist the Transport Manager in managing daily operations and maintaining service standards for our clients.

- Monitor and manage vehicle availability and driver schedules to ensure efficient use of resources.

- Respond to and resolve any issues or disruptions in a timely manner, ensuring minimal impact on service delivery.

- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all transport activities.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport legislation and company policies.

- Liaise with clients, drivers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective service delivery.

- Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support as required.

**Qualifications and Experience:**

- Proven experience in a transport planning role, preferably within a logistics or distribution environment.

- Strong knowledge of UK road transport regulations and compliance requirements.

- Excellent route planning and optimization skills.

- Proficient in using transport management software and systems.

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

- Experience with both curtain side and container transport is highly desirable.
