Day Operator

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a proactive and safety-conscious Day Operator to keep things running smoothly on-site. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining the plant, ensuring equipment is in top condition, and keeping operations safe and efficient.

Duties include:

• Help load and unload road tankers, making sure everything is done safely and efficiently.
• Assist with activities on the Wharf, particularly when boats are being loaded or unloaded.
• Work within the permit-to-work system, ensuring all contractors follow safety protocols.
• Stick to risk assessments and safe working procedures – safety first!
• Take charge as a Permit Issuer and ensure all permit requirements are met.
• Step in as the Site Lifting Supervisor when needed.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain site vehicles, including Volvo, JCB digger, MEWP, and vacuum tanker.
• Oversee the use and upkeep of any hired equipment, like portable pumps used for de-watering coal tar tanks.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in an industrial or operational role.
• Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and risk assessments.
• Hands-on experience with industrial vehicles and equipment.
• A strong safety-first mindset.
• A team player who can also work independently.

Monday – Friday 08:00-17:00
