Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in tendering and estimating for electrical projects, ensuring accuracy in pricing and profitability across various contracts. You will work closely with the pre-construction and project delivery teams, helping to secure and shape projects from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, detailed electrical estimates for M&E packages, considering materials, labor, and sub-contractors for projects up to £10 million.
- Assess project documents and specifications to develop comprehensive estimates, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide insights on cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable pricing and terms to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Review subcontractor bids, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with project specifications.
- Support post-contract handover, providing clarity on estimated costs and any agreed variances.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in electrical estimating, ideally with an M&E contractor, working on projects of similar scale.
- Strong knowledge of M&E installations and electrical systems, with a solid understanding of industry-standard estimating software.
- Experience working on projects within commercial, industrial, or residential sectors.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising with various stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity in project delivery.
