Operations Manager

Streamline Services are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of our client, a leading provider of drainage solutions, specializing in both reactive and planned maintenance services, based at their head office in Kent. 

 
This is a full-time permanent position, working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and due to the nature of the business you will be on-call evenings and weekends on a rota basis. The role also may involve occasional travel to client sites or emergency response locations.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of approximately 15 drainage engineers.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on achieving operational excellence and exceeding client expectations.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of reactive and planned maintenance services.
• Ensure efficient scheduling and allocation of resources to meet client demands promptly.
• Implement and maintain effective systems for job tracking, reporting, and communication.
• Establish and enforce high standards for service quality, health and safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure work meets company standards and client expectations.
• Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs and concerns.
• Proactively communicate with clients to understand their requirements and provide effective solutions.
• Implement performance metrics to track individual and team performance.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.
• Optimize the allocation of resources, including personnel, vehicles, and equipment, to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Manage inventory and equipment maintenance to ensure readiness.
• Develop and implement emergency response procedures to address urgent client needs.
• Ensure the team is adequately trained and prepared to respond to emergencies 24/7.
  
  

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in a managerial role within the drainage or related industry.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of drainage systems, maintenance, and industry best practices.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and in time-sensitive situations.
• Health and Safety qualifications and certifications (NEBOSH or equivalent) are desirable.
• Full driving license.
